We left Friday at around Noon to head towards Chicago. We stopped in Iowa City to meet up with Grandma & Grandpa Wessel and drop off Reggie. We had a quick dinner at Steak and Shake and then were on our way. We finally made it to Chicago at 10 p.m. and were exhausted! However...Cayden was wide awake and ready to party. We fed him and around midnight he was finally tired. The next day we woke up and watched the Iowa Game Vs. Univeristy of Northern Iowa. They won by 1, but at least they won! Thank goodness, otherwise Daddy may have been in a bad mood. After the game we headed out towards Buffalo Grove. We stopped off at the benches that were donated by the teachers where Cayden's grandma worked and by the parents of her kiddos. Then we were on our way to Buffalo Grove Days where I used hang out every year Labor Day weekend. After we ate we walked around for bit, then it was getting late and we were all getting sleepy. So...it was time to head back to Skokie.
Sunday was the day of the headstone dedication. Lots of people came out to remember Momi. Cayden slept most of the time we were out at the cemetary, but I was glad he was there with us. Everyone hung out at Grandpa's house Sunday night which was fun.
Then Monday it was time to leave, except this time Chad had to stay in Chicago for work this week so it was Cayden and I all alone in the car. Cayden slept for 2 hours on our way to Iowa City to meet Grandma/Grandpa Wessel and Reggie, but after we stopped Cayden was not happy. It was a longgggg drive back with just the 3 of us; Cayden, Reggie, & I. We left at 8:00 a.m. and got back at 7:00 p.m. We got back safely, tired, and ready to just hang out with each other. I made a video of highlights from the weekend. Enjoy!
