Cayden’s Arrival April 25th, 2009

      

Friday April 24th I went in with contractions that were between 3-8 minutes apart at 5:00 p.m. Unfortunately I was only dilated to a 2 and apparently I was not progressing as quickly as I should have, so they sent me home at 7:30 p.m. After a wonderful Little Caesers pizza dinner, my contractions continued to get pretty bad. By 8:30 we were heading back to the hospital. Once we got there and I was checked again and this time I was at a 5 and was admitted. I thought I could try to go a little longer without an epidural (what was I thinking?!) and by 11:00 I was officially getting my epidural. What a relief! As the anticipation of the arrival of Cayden got closer, my contractions got stronger but...I felt great since I had my epidural. Cayden came into the world at 9:16 a.m. weighing 8 lbs. 4.9 oz. and 20 inches long.

The Journey...

The journey of pregnancy comes to an end as we await the arrival of Cayden Michael Wessel.

Today I had my last doctors appointment and everything looked great. I am dilated to a 2 and my blood pressure was good. Cayden has still been very active, but apparently enjoys his home in his mommy's belly.

39 Week Appt.

Well...9 days until my due date and hopefully 9 or less days until Caydens arrival. Today at the doctor I actually lost a pound. YAY! And...Mr. Cayden was extra hyper during the appointment and wanted to show off a bit. His heart rate was 161 which is very quick and a lot faster than it's been at previous appointments. I think he is ready to break out of the womb. We even got to feel his little footsie. I am dilated to 1 cm...but who knows what that means...but at least I am progressing a little bit. Now, we just have to hope Cayden just decides to come out and show his cute little face soon!!!
