Saturday morning Cayden and I woke up early to go to the SMA 5K Walk in Roeland Park, Kansas. Cayden did well The reason we were walking is because Lindsay Cochran is in my morning kindergarten class and has a disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). It is a genetic disease in which both parents have to be a carrier and pass the gene to their child. It is also a progressive disease which means these children usually get weaker as they get older. Lindsay uses a wheelchair to get around because the disease affects her muscles. It also affects her respiratory muscles which means that when she gets a cold, she cannot clear her lungs like the rest of us. A cold for Lindsay can easily lead to pneumonia and become life threatening. Lindsay loves being  at school and is a typical kindergartener who loves to play outside, play with princesses, play dress up, and loves to learn at school.

Cayden had so much fun and enjoyed meeting Lindsay!

After the walk it was time for the Iowa game. Iowa vs. Arkansas State.

Sunday Lifetime Fitness had their bring your dog to the pool day, since they are closing down the pool for the year. Reggie was unsure about it and I think all the dogs there kinda freaked him out too.
